As we close the chapter on our Sandy Springs and Vinings studios, we have the unique opportunity to devote our energy, specialized skills and knowledge base, and time to a project that will open up a world of new possibilities. We are fundraising to create a high quality, online aerial encyclopedia of skills, that delves deep into the why and how a skill works. It would reach beyond rote memorization of pathway, prompting exploration within a framework of understanding. This body of work will empower students towards ownership of aerial vocabulary, and will form the foundation for teaching aerial arts. The funds will be used to rent studio space, lighting and camera equipment, and editing software. Luckily, we have access to many in-house resources including a camera op, sound mixer, and video editor. That means that we can produce a broader body of work with minimal up-front costs. We’ll be able to not only provide our existing students with a lasting and valuable resource, but offer the same high level training to people in remote areas with minimal access to live instruction. We’re excited to get a proof of concept in the works by Fall 2019, with filming starting in late September/early October. If Sky Gym has brightened your life or supported your aerial journey in any way, please consider a contribution towards our next chapter. Whether it’s $1, $10, $100 or $1000, every single donation makes an enormous difference and will help get me one step closer to making my dream a reality. Another simple and easy way to contribute is by sharing this GoFundMe link in a post on social media, or a message to a friend who does aerial. Your support is greatly appreciated and will give you first access to the Sky Gym Aerial Wiki.
