Dante’s Inferno will be a professionally developed aerial theater production based on the poem “Dante’s Inferno” by Dante Alighieri. It will be a non-verbal performance, in the style of nouveau cirque, with characters and screenplay based on the classical poem.

This dark tale will probe the depths of human sin, revealing that hell is not only for condemned souls. It will explore the theory that hell is created in our own minds when we lose our truth. The torments of hell are ravaged upon our own minds, God and Satan being one and the same within us. Ultimately it is a message of hope; a plea to overcome our demons through reason, faith, and love.

Application Process

 

Audition Date: Sunday, December 7th 10am-2pm and 3-5pm

This casting call is for a full production performance which will be held at 7 Stages in Atlanta, GA in late March 2015. Performers will be required to make themselves available for all rehearsals, tech week, and performance.  Performers will also be expected to make a significant investment of time in promoting the show. Please see the sample contract located at sign in for full agreement.

Casting will be gender neutral with no consideration placed on race, ethnicity, religion, or gender expression/identity.

1. Carefully read this Casting Call, Character Descriptions, and Talent Agreement
2. Consider your job, your school, your family, and any other current responsibilities. Decide if you can commit to the time, money and energy investment detailed in the Ensemble Agreement.
3. Apply for all the positions, acts, and characters that you are interested in.
4. Aerial Audition -Prepare 2 minutes of solo choreography to demonstrate your abilities. You will also be asked to participate in a group aerial ensemble choreography taught during the audition. You do not need to prepare anything for the group work. A
5. Choose an audition time. Arrive at least 15 minutes early to warm up and fill out an audition form. Please bring one current photo and your resume if available.
6. If needed, callbacks will take place from 7-9pm on Sunday, Dec 7th. You will be contacted by 5pm if your presence is requested at callbacks. Results will be posted on 12/7 at 11pm on the private Cast Page at http://www.aerialsilksatlanta.com/2014/11/14/cast-information/
