•       Ground-based character work; No aerial or acrobatics (in this vignette production of Dante’s Inferno)
•       Observes the goings on in the different circles of hell with Virgil
•       A range of emotions from fear, sadness, anger, respect, love, spiritual enlightenment, etc.

Virgil: Dante’s guide through hell

• Ground-based character work; no aerial or acrobatics (in this iteration of Dante’s Inferno)
•       Deceased ghost of well respected poet. Stately, non-emotional, wise
•       Must be taller than Dante

Beatrice

• Angel of Dante’s love- she is deceased and resides in Paradise.  She appears to Dante throughout his journey through hell to guide him out
•       Ethereal looking; white/silver hair, sparkly/shimmery make up and costume
•       Upper-level skills on tails required (at least L3, at least 18 years old)
•       1-2 tails solo
•       Does not touch the ground (sits in hammock above stage while not performing)– must have good endurance

Minos

•       The judge; determines which circle the newly deceased must go
•       Ground based whip skills
•       Character: Overlord judge.

Souls of Limbo

Scene 1: “Party in Hell”

Dia del Muerte style group ensemble choreography. Uptempo yet slightly creepy. Think Tim Burton’s “Corpse Bride” underworld.

•       6 ground, partner balancing and/or contortion performers

o   Should be comfortable with partner – very close, sensual looking choreography

Scene 2: Tragic Love Story

•       Three aerial silks performers (L3+) – => Husband, Wife, and Lover

o   Wife and Lover: must be comfortable working close in sensual choreography, and have experience doing aerial partnering work

o   Husband: ground dance and potential aerial work, violent choreography
